Hello Family seeks to improve outcomes for young children and their families by providing services and resources for children in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

What is Hello Family?

Hello Family is a collaborative initiative that seeks to improve outcomes for young children and their families. In fall 2023, Hello Family began an expansion as part of Spartanburg's Movement 2030 plan, working under Spartanburg Academic Movement to lead county-wide expansion of early care and education supports on behalf of all project partners.

How does it work?

  1. Hello Family offers a public hotline for parents that connects them to free resources and support services.

  2. Hello Family provides funding for local providers who share our goals.

  3. Behind the scenes, Hello Family focuses on early care and education systems building.

Hello Family’s Focus

Through Hello Family, local partners hope to:

  • Improve birth outcomes and early childhood health and development.

  • Reduce avoidable emergency room visits.

  • Reduce the incidences of child abuse and neglect.

  • Increase school readiness.

The Story of Hello Family

Several years ago, local partners built a vision around ensuring every child in Spartanburg arrives at school healthy, thriving and ready to learn. It grew into a coalition of dozens of partners, informed by research and driven by community voice. By January 2022, the vision became a reality through Hello Family. With multiple funders and stakeholders, Spartanburg now offers a support system that can reach every new family, tailored to each family’s needs, thus meeting them where they are.
